MySolido is local-first: your data lives on your own PC. Optional services run in Europe.

All your documents, passwords and data are stored on your own computer. Nothing leaves your PC unless you choose so.

Read-only copy of your vault on a Dutch server. Secured with HTTPS, bcrypt and firewall. No American company involved.

Small text fragments are sent to Mistral for better AI answers. French company, European servers. Your files stay local.

What guarantees do you have?

Local-first — Your data does not leave your computer unless you explicitly choose so (Bridge, AI, OCR). Every optional service can be turned off.

Open source (GPLv3) — The full source code is public. Anyone can verify what the software does. Nobody can create a closed-source fork.

No tracking — No cookies, no analytics, no ads, no registration. Not on the website, not in the app.

You stay in control — If MySolido shuts down tomorrow, you still have all your files on your PC. The Bridge is a copy, not the source.

European infrastructure — Bridge in the Netherlands (mijn.host), AI and OCR via France (Mistral). No mandatory dependency on American services.

The requesting party pays — In the consent system, the party requesting data pays, not the consumer. Your data is never resold (ODRL prohibition).

How is your data protected?

Encryption	HTTPS via Let's Encrypt on the Bridge. Local data on your PC, protected by your operating system.
Authentication	Passwords hashed with bcrypt. No plaintext storage.
Bridge	Read-only — no uploads or deletions via the internet. Firewall (ports 22, 80, 443 only).
Share links	Cryptographically secure tokens. Optional password and expiry date. Watermarks for traceability.
Consent	Every permission recorded per ISO 27560 + W3C DPV. Revocable with one click.
ODRL policies	Machine-readable usage rules per folder: who may do what, until when, no resale.
Audit log	Complete log of all actions: uploads, shares, deletions, searches.
Crash reports	Optional and anonymous. Only version number, OS and error message. No personal data.

Privacy

MySolido does not process personal data by default. The software runs on your own PC. Nothing is sent, nothing stored on external servers, nothing shared with third parties — unless you explicitly choose so.

What happens when you enable optional services:

Bridge	Your vault is mirrored to a Dutch server. Only you have access (password). Share link recipients only see the shared file.
Hybrid AI	Small text fragments (~2500 words per question) are temporarily sent to the chosen AI provider. Your full files stay local.
Cloud OCR	Scanned documents are sent to Mistral (EU) for text recognition. The full document goes to the cloud. Do not use for highly sensitive scans.
Crash reports	Opt-in. Only version number, operating system and error message. No names, no files, no IP addresses.

      Core principle: Every optional service can be deliberately turned on or off in settings. MySolido gives you the choice — and communicates honestly what does and doesn't leave your machine.
